PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent a worker from being killed due to the accidental movement of an elevator car. SOLUTION: Sensors 25, 26 are mounted at the upper part and the bottom part of an elevator car 17. A portable device 11 is arranged under an emblem on an uniform of a worker 9. An alarm is provided on the uniform in some case. If the worker 9 exists when the elevator car 17 reaches the uppermost or lowermost landing, the sensors 25, 26 react thereon through the portable device 11 to cause emergent stop of the elevator car 17. At the same time, the alarm on the worker 9 is actuated to alarm the worker 9.
