<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor driven golf cart which is mounted with a power generating and charging device and enables the selection of a 'generator stop mode' and a 'charge mode' in addition to an 'ordinary travel mode'. SOLUTION: Whether the mode is the charge mode or not is decided (S21). In the case of the charge mode, an engine for driving the generator is turned on to start (22). Next, when the engine is started or not is decided (23). When the engine is decided to be started, the magnitude of charge current (charge quantity) is decided (24). When the charge current is large, judgment is made that the charge is still necessary. When the discharge quantity is small, the charge quantity is large and judgment is made that the replenishing discharge is not necessary any more. The engine for driving the generator is then turned off to stop (25). When the mode is judged not to be the charge mode (S21), whether the mode is the ordinary travel mode or not is decided (S26). When the mode is judged to be the ordinary travel mode, the control meeting the flow of the power generation and charge control sequence is executed as the ordinary travel mode (S27).
