<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve productivity while preventing a structure from being complicated by an increase of load receiving members by receiving the force for pressing one grinding wheel to a cam with the other grinding wheel and the load receiving members. SOLUTION: The grinding wheel 16 of a first polishing unit 8 and the grinding wheel 18 of a second polishing unit 9 polish an intake valve cam 6 and an exhaust valve cam 7 to match with the cam profiles of the intake valve cam 13 and the exhaust valve cam 14 of a reference camshaft 4. During polishing, the force for pressing the grinding wheel 16 of the first polishing unit 8 to the intake valve cam 6 is received by the grinding wheel 18 of the second polishing unit 9 and load receiving members 10. The force for pressing the grinding wheel 18 of the second polishing unit 9 to the exhaust valve cam 7 is received by the grinding wheel 16 of the first polishing unit 8 and the load receiving members 10, therefore the number of the load receiving members 10 is not increased in a structure using two grinding wheels 16, 18 from that in a structure using only one grinding wheel.</p> |
