PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To estimate the motion vector value of a target window in the same size, to make efficiency high and to improve a compression rate by appropriately moving the target window through the use of a relation with an adjacent position. SOLUTION: The reference block Bm of a frame Fn is selected. Motion vectors Dxn and Dyn with respect to the reference block Bm are obtained with a center point as the center point of the target window Wm of the previous frame Fn-1 and it is set to be a block Bm+1 next to the reference block Bm . The most similar block in the target window area of the corresponding frame is detected with a displacement value adjacent to Bm+1 as a reference, and the other moving vector is estimated. At that time, the presence or absence of complicated motion is judged. When complicated motion does not exist, the center point is decided to xn+1 +Dxn and yn -Dyn and the window area in the same size is set. The adjacent motion vector value is referred to and probability that the corresponding block is in the target window is improved. |
