PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance torque transmitting ability while miniaturizing a variable diameter pulley by energizing a pair of pulley subjects toward mutually approaching direction by an inertial member having received centrifugal force and an elastic member, and by structuring the pulley so as to obtain clamping force to hold a power transmitting ring between both pulley subjects. SOLUTION: A variable diameter pulley applied to the driven pulley of an engine auxiliary machine system driven by a belt 7 is equipped with two axially movable pulley subjects 2, 3 around a rotation shaft 1, and a power transmitting ring 6 having an almost trapezoidal cross section is held between cone taper shaped power transmitting surfaces 4, 5 formed on their confronting surfaces so that it can be eccentric. This pulley also has a linking means MR including a diaphragm spring 11 to link each pulley subject 2, 3 to the rotation shaft 1 so that torque can be transmitted and an energizing means MF to energize both pulleys 2, 3 toward their approaching direction, and the energizing means MF is equipped with an inertial member 59 to push the pulley subject 3 toward the pulley subject 2 side by increasing a revolution diameter by centrifugal force.
