PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it easy to lead the lubricant flowing in the groove provided on the flat plate surface of a thrust washer into a sliding face (flat plate surface) along with the sliding motion of the thrust washer and the mate member and suppress the wearing of the sliding surface. SOLUTION: In this thrust washer 1, a groove 2, which is provided on the flat plate surface of the ring-like thrust washer 1 as a lubricant flowing passage, is constituted as follows: i.e., the groove 2 is made broad on the entrance side for lubricant and narrow on the exit side for lubricant. For example, an R section 3 is formed on either side of the groove 2 on the entrance side (at the place where the side wall face of the groove 2 and the internal peripheral surface of the thrust washer 1 intersect each other). Another R section 3 is also formed at the place where the bottom face of the groove 2 and the internal peripheral surface of the thrust washer 1 intersect each other. In this constitution, the width of the groove 2 on the entrance side for lubricant is made larger than that on the exit side for lubricant.
