PURPOSE: A process of preparing a diesel piston by installing a separately prepared preform and salt core to the upper part of a lower mold, pouring molten metal thereinto and pressurizing with a punch is provided, thereby easily producing a piston having a considerably complicated construction and increases cooling and lubricating effects. CONSTITUTION: The diesel piston is prepared by the following processes consisting of: making a preform(14) and salt core(16) separately; installing the salt core to the upper part of a lower mold(10) and simultaneously combining a fixed die(11) and mobile die(12) while installing the preform by using both preform installation grooves(15) of the fixed die and mobile die after separation of the mobile die from the fixed die; pouring molten metal into the inside in which the preform and salt core are constructed, and pressing with a punch(13); and taking out a molded product, wherein a molten metal outlet is mounted on one side of the fixed die and mobile die, and a salt core supporting part is arranged at the upper part of the lower mold to support the salt core.
