PURPOSE: A method for re-opening an elevator door is provided to reduce the shock, noise and vibration due to the rapid speed change of a door by making a door re-opened smoothly and promptly. CONSTITUTION: A method for re-opening an elevator door comprises the steps of closing a door by outputting an acceleration or deceleration value corresponding to the present traveling distance, decelerating and stopping the door by generating a deceleration pattern within a predetermined time if an opening command signal is inputted, detecting the stop position of the door by counting the pulses generated from an encoder via a position detecting unit and generating a new re-opening pattern corresponding to the distance to move by calculating the re-opening distance, and completing door opening while maintaining a uniform opening pattern regardless of the change in load.
