A handy polishing device for polishing a portion to be repaired, such as the broken region of a cylindrical member or the like, after it has been padded by such means as electric discharge, welding or thermal spraying. The device includes bearings (3, 4) serving as slide members attached to a base block (2), and a handle section (9) and a polishing member (14) placed on the base block. In operation, a padded portion (B) is polished by the polishing member (14) while measuring the height of the padded portion (B) by a dial gauge (10), the bearings (3, 4) are rolled on a cylindrical member (A), and the base block (2) is repetitively moved, whereby the polishing of the padded portion (B) can be quickly completed with an improved operating efficiency without requiring any skill. Further, the device is handy and multipurpose and has a wide range of applications. |
