PURPOSE:To provide a liquid crystal display element which has such unprecedented outside appearance that a character is black though a background is colored and where contrast is improved by using a color reflector in a liquid crystal display device, whose display is recognized without backlight even in the dark place by using light accumulating pigment having a property that the pigment absorbs light and emits the light in the dark place for the color reflector, and where the character looks in bold relief by faint fluorescence and an electronic equipment where the liquid crystal display element is mounted. CONSTITUTION:A pair of substrates 1 is stuck to be opposed through a sealing material 5, and an upper polarizing plate 7 and a lower polarizing plate 8 are disposed on the outsides of the substrates 1. Furthermore, the reflector 9 where a color coating layer 10 is formed is disposed on the downside of the plate 8. The color coating layer 10 is formed by coating the pigment and resin containing dyestuff. |
