The invention relates to a container for transporting loose or hardly packaged food and other items. The inventive container (1) has an egg-shaped outer contour (11) and a bottom element (2) and a cover (4) that are interlinked at their connecting edges (13). The combination of the snap-in design of the connecting edge (13) and the corresponding embodiment of the partition walls (5, 6) and optionally of an intermediate bottom (24) creates a stable structural unit (10) that can be stocked with warm and hot as well as with cold or normal-temperature items due to the insulating material of which it consists. Due to the connection in the marginal area, such a container (1) can be taken, for example, from a shelf before boarding the airplane and can be transported aboard by the passenger, thereby allowing a substantial reduction of the staff, that is flight attendants, required. |
