The joint has a groove (3) extending at right angles to the log (1). Two identical cavities are positioned opposite each other in the groove, forming two side walls in the coupling section of the joint. The shape of the cavities enables the coupling section to be received by a similar groove in a similar joint in another log when the two logs are slotted together at right angles. The groove side walls (7,9) are rendered non-parallel by having the groove tapered down towards its base (11). Likewise, the coupling section side walls are non-parallel as a result of being tapered towards the base of this section extending between the two walls. |
