PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the disturbance/bulging at the edge of the surface to be coated with a pressure-sensitive adhesive in a trailing blade coater and the fouling of a backing roll to stabilize the operation. SOLUTION: In the step of producing a pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet by coating a pressure-sensitive adhesive on a release sheet by a trailing coater, then drying the coated pressure-sensitive adhesive, and successively laminating a surface substrate on the resulting sheet through this pressure-sensitive adhesive between a nip formed by two pressurized rolls, a first layer tape film 5 is inserted into the nip so as to wrap up a blade roll 2 from under guide edges 4 to be placed between the blade roll 2 at both ends of the trailing blade coater and a backing roll 1 and, at the same time, a second layer tape film 6 is inserted between the guide edges 4 and the backing roll 1 on this side of the guide edges 4 so as to cross said first layer tape film 5.
