POLYESTER MONOFILAMENT AND WOVEN FABRIC FOR INDUSTRIAL USE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyester monofilament exhibiting excellent stain-proofing property against oily tacky materials, having excellent durability, flexing abrasion resistance and tenacity and elongation characteristics and suitable e.g. as an industrial fabric such as a paper machine wire by using a polymer having a contact angle smaller than a prescribed level as the constituent component of the monofilament. SOLUTION: This monofilament is composed of a polymer having a contact angle of <=72 deg. measured by applying 5μL of ion-exchanged water to the surface of a polymer plate produced by melting the polymer and has a flexing abrasion breakage cycle satisfying the formula (C is a flexing abrasion breakage cycle number; D is minor diameter of the monofilament and is 0.05-1.00 mm). The polyester monofilament preferably contains 0.2-30 wt.% of a polyether ester amide and the polyester is preferably polyethylene terephthalate.
