PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image processor capable of improving the quality of the image of insufficient exposure while maintaining the portability and simplicity of a digital camera. SOLUTION: A digital camera 101 is provided with a CCD 201 for picking up the image of an object to output a digital color image signal, an AGC circuit 202, an A/D converter 203, a white balance adjuster 204 and a luminance generating part 301 for inputting a digital color image signal outputted by the adjuster 204 to generate a luminance signal. Then, the part 301 generates the luminance signal based on an exposure at the time of picking up the image of the object.
