摘要 A narrow section with bell-shaped flare (14) is located at the top of the vertical immersed cylinder (10). Water entrained, is accelerated in this section, improving air distribution into it. Preferred Features: An annular passage is defined by walls of the section (14) and those of an aerator (16) of complementary shape, attached to it. The upper part emerges from the liquid. The lower end of the aerator includes a propeller (12). Upstream, the entry of the passage is parallel to the liquid level (26). It is set just below this level. Air is taken to the propeller by a pipe (22) with an inlet above water level. Propeller blades with hollow, airfoil-like cross section, are connected to the pipe (22). The trailing section of the upper wall of each blade, is perforated to distribute air into the water. The assembly is mounted on floats (28) allowing levels to be adjusted precisely. Radial baffles (30) fixed to the internal wall of the cylinder (10) and/or in the annular passage, are flow straighteners. Additional pipes (32) drag any scum formed at the surface, to the bottom. The cylinder (10) is of adjustable length, allowing its lower end to be placed near the bottom of the reservoir, to agitate any possible sludge deposits. The deflector (34) at the lower end, directs the two-phase flow outwardly. Aerator (16) walls facing the narrow section are perforated.
