PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device which has a wide visual field angle characteristics, high contrast, excellent display brightness, and is reduced in manufacturing costs and its manufacturing method with an enhanced yield. SOLUTION: In this liquid crystal display device 1 provided with a first substrate part 2a having a first substrate 21a, colored resin layers 5 and a black matrix 4 for light-shielding a gap between the colored resin layers 5, a second substrate part 2b and a liquid crystal layer 3 interposed between the first substrate part 2a and the second substrate part 2b, the first substrate part 2a has a wall shaped structure 6 consisting of the part of the colored resin layer 5 overlapped by the black matrix 4, dividing the liquid crystal layer 3 into plural liquid crystal regions and axially symmetrically aligning liquid crystal molecules in the liquid crystal regions. The surface of the colored resin layers 5 except the part of the colored resin layers 5 overlapped by the black matrix 4 is flat. |
