PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a synthesized image display device which is capable of displaying the image of an external object constituting the basis for a synthesized image without use of a photographic means, displaying an arbitrary writing image on the screen and displaying the synthesized image of the image of the external object and the writing image. SOLUTION: A polarizing plate 20 is arranged on the front surface side of a liquid crystal panel 11 provided with transparent electrodes 14 and 15 forming plural pixel parts by regions facing each other on the inside surfaces of a pair of transparent substrates 12 and 13 facing each other across a liquid crystal layer 19 twist oriented with liquid crystal molecules and a polarized light reflection plate 21 which reflects the incident light of a polarization component along the reflection axis and allows the transmission of the incident light of the polarization component along the transmission axis is arranged on the rear surface side of the liquid crystal panel 11. The rear surface side of the polarized light reflection plate 21 is provided with a colored film 22 and a writing signal and non-writing signal are selectively impressed between the electrodes 14 and 15 of the plural pixel parts of the liquid crystal panel 11 by an image writing means 24 so that the reflected image of the external object is displayed by the polarized light reflection plate 21 in the region impressed with the non-writing signal and the writing image is displayed in the region impressed with the writing signal. |
