<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a computer, which has plural insert substrates, capable of providing high availability at low cost in spite of increase in the number of application insert slots. SOLUTION: Concerning this computer, plural insert substrates capable of insertion into mutually adjacent bus segments 12 and 14 are provided and both the bus segments 12 and 14 are mutually connected through bridge circuits 32 and 34 provided with at least one CPU insert substrate. In this case, two bridge elements 34 and 38 composed of one of I/O units 24 and 26 and one of CPU units 28 and 30 are respectively mutually fixedly coupled. These elements can be inserted into the bus segments 12 and 14, the I/O units 24 and 26 can be inserted into one bus segment and the CPU units 28 and 30 can be inserted into the other bus segment.</p> |
