PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a CAD data file converting method for CAD data file which can correctly convert data files between different CAD systems, and a computer-readable recording medium where a conversion program is recorded. SOLUTION: A 1st CAD data file is converted by a 1st CAD system into a file in text format. A CAD data conversion table on an external storage device 20 is retrieved as to character strings in respective columns of records included in the file in text format, and when there is a character string matching a character string in a column in the CAD data conversion table, the character string in the column is replaced with a character string related to a one in the CAD data conversion table, and the file in 1st text format is rewritten into a file in 2nd text format and the file in 2nd text format is referred to by a 2nd CAD system and converted into a 2nd CAD data file.
