PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recording method capable of performing recording with uniform signal recording characteristics over the entire surface of an optical disk medium by using a simple method rotatingly driving the medium with a CAV(constant angluar velocity) system while maintaining the compatibility with the recording formats of reproduction-only media. SOLUTION: All setting values with the ratio Ttop of a leading heating pulse width to a recording clock period T, the duty ratio Tmp of heating pulses of a succeeding multi-pulse part, and a ratio ρ=Pw/Pw min between a recording power Pw at a desired recording linear velocity to the optimum recording power Pw min at the minimum recording linear velocity are updated at prescribed intervals in accordance with a desired recording linear velocity. Thus, even when the recording linear velocity is changed by a CAV control making the number of revolution of an optical disk constant, recording having a uniform recording characteristics is made possible over the entire surface of the optical recording medium. |
