PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the structure, to reduce the cost of a paper money receiving/paying-out device and to shorten and simplify the transportation route of paper money. SOLUTION: The device is provided with a paper money storage part C1 storing plural paper money storage cases c1 to c5 and a money receiving/paying unit C2. The paper money storage cases c1 to c5 are arrayed/arranged in a line and they have paper money receiving/paying-out ports 110 at their upper face respectively. The money receiving/paying unit C2 is installed so that it can move along the arraying direction of the paper money storage cases c1 to c5 just above them. The money receiving/paying unit C2 has a received/paid money integration part 1, a received money transferring part 2, a received money identification part 3, a received money holding part 4, a received money storage mechanism part 5, a paying money feeding out part 6 and transportation means 7a to 7p. A paper money receiving/paying device moves the money receiving/paying unit C2 to the positions of the necessary paper money storage cases c1 to c5 and paper money P is stored/fed out in/from the paper money storage cases c1 to c5.
