PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To speedily grasp the data of a required item on the display of a list even when the required data item is different for each registered record concerning an information display device for registering, retrieving and displaying personal information such as address book data or schedule data. SOLUTION: A where-to-make-contact item number (n) is set for each piece of data stored in an address book memory and when displaying the list of an address book, a 'name' for each case stored in the address book memory is coupled with any item of portable telephone number '1', telephone number '2', E-Mail address '3', Fax number '4' and address '5' shown by the where- to-make-contact item number (n) set for each case, and retrieved as data for plural persons within a displayable range so that the list can be displayed. Therefore, even when the kind of the first where-to-make-contact is different for each case registered in the address book memory, the items of respectively correspondent first where-to-make-contact are retrieved and the list can be displayed.
