PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain the high speed processing time by reducing the process in the data decoding means at the time of reproduction. SOLUTION: The data recording/reproducing device 1 is provided with a recording part 2, reproducing part 3, HD 4, and controller 6. The recording part 2 is furnished with video/audio/auxiliary data encoders 14-16 for encoding by an MPEG-2 system and a header data memory 20. The reproducing part 3 is furnished with video/audio/auxiliary data decoders 36-38 and a header data memory 35. The controller 6 acquires the header information included in the MPEG data encoded by the encoders to record the acquired header information to the recording medium together with the MPEG data. Then, the reproduction control of the MPEG data is carried out based on the header information separately recorded with respect to the MPEG data at the time of reproduction.
