PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To structure a mobile communication system which is friendly with environment by reducing the power consumption in a time zone wherein a slave station device requires no electric power and thus effectively consuming the electric power. SOLUTION: When a mobile station 5 starts sending and receiving in the area of a slave station device 4a, the reception level of the slave station device 4a abruptly rises and the power source of the reception part of this station is all turned ON to enable the mobile station 5 and slave station device 4a to send and receive. The slave station device 4a informs a master station device 3 of information showing that the mobile station 5 is present in the area of its station. Then the master station device 3 instructs a slave station device 4b which is put in charge of an adjacent area to power ON the reception part. Even when the mobile station 5 enters the area of the slave station device 4b, the reception part of the slave station device 4b is powered ON, so the communication is carried on. The slave station device 4a which is not adjacent to the slave station device put in charge of the mobile station 5 any more powers OFF the reception part a specific time after the reception level drops, and turns ON only the power source of a reception level monitor.
