PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission medium access control method where a guard time required for a propagation delay can be reduced and a utilizing efficiency of a channel can be enhanced and to provide its system. SOLUTION: In this system, a base station 100 and terminal stations 101, 102,...N are interconnected via a transmission medium. In the transmission medium access control method where the stations make packet communication by using this transmission medium in common, each of time slots resulting from dividing a common share channel 103 on the transmission medium is divided on a time base is controlled for the use by each of the terminal stations 101, 102,...N, and each of the terminal stations 101, 102,...N transmits a control packet shorter than the data packet through a transfer reservation time slot prior to transmission of the data packet.
