PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control braking power in a variable manners. SOLUTION: An eddy current decelerator has a stationary support cylinder and a movable support cylinder 22, which are supported in parallel with each other in a case placed inside a brake drum, a plurality of magnets which are arranged on the respective support cylinders and connected in parallel with each other between the respective support cylinders, and a hydraulic pressure cylinder mechanism 30 by which the movable support cylinder 22 is turned forward and backward for the changeover between a braking state and a non- braking state. Furthermore, a servomotor 40 for driving a piston 34 and a control means 100 for controlling the operation of the servomotor 40 are provided. The control means 100 calculates main braking power, requested braking power and auxiliary braking power, corresponding to the difference between the requested braking power and the main braking power with a present pedal stroke at a certain vehicle speed and controls the operation of the servomotor 40, so as to have the auxiliary braking power outputted.
