PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically set a characteristic of a configuration filter to have an optimum characteristic depending on a speaker in use. SOLUTION: In this automatic setting device, a configuration filter 100 applies filter processing to acoustic signals of a plurality of channels that are decoded by a decoder 4, a formatter 101 arranges the processed signal to have a transmission form, and the resulting signal is sent to a plurality of speakers 201-205 via a network interface 103 and a transmission line 200. Before the transmission of the acoustic signal, speaker information of each speaker is captured via the network interface 103, received and decoded by a de-formatter 104, a microcomputer 105 analyzes contents of the speaker information to set an optimum configuration filter characteristic in response to the speaker environment.
