PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a housing structure for portable measuring instrument realizing reduction in thickness when the cover is closed while enhancing the degree of freedom. SOLUTION: The housing structure comprises a case body 13, an outer cover body 23 covering the opening face 13a of the case body 13, and an intermediate cover body 33 interposed between the case body 13 and the outer cover body 23 when the cover is closed. The intermediate cover body 33 has protrusions 38 projecting toward the case body 13 and/or the outer cover body 23 and being fitted in windows 30 made at the facing parts of the counterpart member when the cover is closed.
