摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To distinguish a particle in liquid from a bubble in-line and to count the number of particles by applying a laser beam to the particle and the bubble in liquid for generating scattered light, and at the same time generating fluorescence from the particle, detecting the size of the particle and bubble from the scattered light, performing the spectrum analysis of fluorescence and counting the number of particles. SOLUTION: A laser beam from a laser application device 5 is applied to a particle and a bubble in liquid flowing in a flow cell 2. A particle/bubble- detecting device 3 detects the particle and the bubble by the light-scattering method and outputs the size and number of the particles and bubbles. However, the detection device 3 cannot distinguish the particle from the bubble. The applied laser beam is simultaneously applied to the particle or the bubble, thus generating fluorescence or scattered light. The fluorescence or scattered light is received by a laser beam-receiving device 6 via a condensation lens 4, and is further subjected to spectrum analysis by a spectrum analysis device 7. The analysis allows the particle or the bubble to be discriminated, and generates particle count output for the particle, thus counting the number of particles.
