PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent both pipes from bending during the jointing operation of the pipes. SOLUTION: This jointing device is provided with first and second fixtures 22, 23 which are respectively fixed on the outer peripheries of the one and the otherpipes 1, 2 to be mutually jointed, a cable body 48 one end side and the other end side of which are connected at a pair of positions spaced a distance apart in circumferential direction of the one fixture 23, a guide member 40 which is installed to the other fixture 22 and which is laid so that an intermediate part of the cable body 48 arranged in axial direction of the pipe to be directed from the one fixture 23 toward the other fixture 22 can change the direction at the position of the other fixture 22, and a tensile force giving means 47 which gives tensile force to the cable body 48 to move the first fixture 22 and the second fixture 23 in such direction in which both the fixtures are brought close to each other. That is, since the cable body 48 arranged in the axial dirrection of the pipe, spaced a distance apart in circumferential direction of the pipe, is tensed to allow the one and the other fixtures to be pulled to each other, force acting on these fixtures in order for the fixtures to be pulled to each other can be evenly dispersed in circumferential direction of the pipes.
