PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heater control device and its method capable of more precisely controlling the temperatures of high speed follow-up heaters. SOLUTION: The heater number and the number, heater type, parameter and number of ignition rate stages of high speed follow-up heaters 41a are checked (Steps S200-S220), the number of ON cycles corresponding to the number of ignition rate stages is calculated (Step S230), the set temperatures of the heaters are checked to calculate control cycles (Step S240, S250), and the ignition rates of the heaters, obtained by dividing the number of ON cycles by the number of control cycles, are derived as the ratio of a resolution 256 to electric power (Step S260), whereby the temperatures of the high speed follow-up heaters 41a are more precisely controlled.
