MAGNETIC HEAD AND ITS PRODUCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent unnecessary glass from adhering to the inner wall of a wire winding window of a magnetic head obtained by bonding a pair of magnetic core half bodies to each other by filling a track width controlling groove with glass. SOLUTION: This magnetic head is constituted so that glass fluidizing layers 9a and 9b are provided only on the slant face part 13 of the inner wall of the wire winding window 12 and the oxide magnetic body surface of the magnetic core half bodies 1a and 1b are exposed on other parts. A bonding glass 4a is prevented from flowing onto the exposed surface of the oxide magnetic body other than the part 13 in the window 12 when the glass is melted by making good use of the wettability difference among the glass 4a, the layers 9a and 9b and the half bodies 1a and 1b with the oxide magnetic body.
