PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer driver setting selection device for automatically setting up an optimum environment in a printer driver as to a printer driver setting selection device for selecting the set contents of a printer driver in a printing system consisting of host equipment and a printer. SOLUTION: As to the printer driver setting selection device in the printing system for receiving printing data from the host equipment and executing printing processing by the printer device, the set contents of the printer driver 11a are automatically set up, the driver 11a is automatically set up in accordance with the set frequency of the driver 11a in a certain application e.g. or the driver 11a is set up in accordance with the final setting of the driver 11a in a certain application or in accordance with the recommended setting of the driver 11a in a certain application and the set contents of the driver 11a are automatically determined without forcing a user to execute complicated setting processing.
