PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inform a user of an incoming call without obstructing photographing operation of the user of a multimedia device, such as an image pickup device provided also with a communication function, while the user is photographing an image. SOLUTION: The controlling method of a photographing device having a communication function for communicating with an external device through a cable or by radio, has a call-incoming detecting process (S2) for detecting call-incoming from external equipment, a photographing state detecting process (S3) for detecting whether the photographing device is in the middle of photographing or not, and informing processes (S35, S51) for giving information on the call-incoming in accordance with a detecting result in the photographing state detecting processes (S4 to S6, S11 to S13, S21 to S23, S31 to S35, S41 to S46). |
