PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data providing system capable of protecting the profit of a person related to a data providing device. SOLUTION: A contents provider 101 distributes a secure container 104 storing contents data enciphered by using contents key data, contents key data enciphered by using data for distribution key and enciphered title deed data showing handling of contents data to a SAM 1051 or the like of a user home network 103. The SAM 1051 or the like deciphers the contents key data and the title deed data stored in the secure container 104 and determines handling such as purchase or utilization style of contents data on the basis of these deciphered title deed data.
