PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for determining fault of power distributing wire that can surely determine generation of faults in the first section of the power distributing wire, without enhancing the processing speed of the existing system. SOLUTION: The re-closing of path is started, with the first shut-off (S1) of a circuit breaker, metering of the time for monitoring. During this period, if re-closing of path cannot be detected with the CDT information (S3), reference is made to a re-closing start position signal generated, when the re-closing sequence is started (S5) to determine (S6) as to whether the re-closing is performed within the re-closing path monitoring time from this position signal. When the re-closing is performed, if the re-closing is not performed for the metering of the final shut-off monitoring time (S7, S8), it is determined that a fault occurs in the first section of the power distributing wire between the circuit breaker and the first sectional switch (S9).
