PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To safely and comfortably use a plurality of portable devices by supplying no power supply, until a correct voltage or current information is defined with an information transmitting means. SOLUTION: In the plug in the AC adapter side, a signal wire 3 is provided in addition to GND1 and a power supply line 2. Through the signal wire 3, a weak voltage and a weak current are supplied only of the communication from the AC adapter, and a communication circuit for operating a weak current is formed in the portable device side. In this manner, it is so set that the power source is not supplied until correct voltage is determined or current information is discriminated by transferring the information to determine the voltage or current to be used in the portable device to the AC adapter side plug from the jack side. As a result, a plurality of portable devices can be used comfortably.
