PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a uniform insulation film, without attaching insulation film forming liquid to the inner side of a positive electrode terminal and apply high- viscosity insulation film forming liquid. SOLUTION: In this manufacturing method of cathode-ray tubes, insulation film forming liquid is applied circularly on the surface of a bulb around a cap-shaped positive electrode terminal 11 by painting with a brush, and then it is dried to form an insulation film 17. In this case, a painting jig comprising plural brush parts 31a, 31b is used for painting the insulation film forming liquid on the surface of the bulb around the cap-shaped positive electrode terminal by the plural brush parts 31a, 31b.
