摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical wavelength multiplexing transmission system which can prevent trouble from occurring owing to a peep at an end surface, etc., and can automatically restore itself by specifying the place of a transmission line disconnection and monitoring the state of an alarm. SOLUTION: If transmission line disconnection trouble occurs at a disconnection point 7 in a transmission line, an optical amplifier 41 in a repeating station house 4 can not receive an optical signal because of a transmission line cut, so this information in an unreceived state is reported to an optical amplifier 42 in the same repeating station house 4. The optical amplifier 42 adds this information to its station control signal, transmits them to an optical amplifier 32 in an opposite repeating station house 3 and also stops transmitting a main signal. The optical amplifier 32 in the repeating station house 3 once receiving this control signal informs an optical amplifier 31 in the same repeating station house 3 of the information and the optical amplifier 31 stops transmitting its station main signal and also continues to output the control signal of its station.
