DEVICE AND METHOD FOR MORPHING IMAGE PROCESSING USING POLYGON REDUCTION PROCESS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for morphing image processing which can reduce an interpolative calculation quantity and a process load while maintaining the larger number of control points and more variation steps. SOLUTION: This morphing image processor inputs a 1st image 301 before deformation and a 2nd image 302 after deformation and a polygon model generating process part generates polygon models 311 and 312 represented with polygon meshes. A low-layer polygon model generating process part performs a polygon reduction process to generate low-layer polygon models 321 and 322 decreased in the number of polygons and metadata 331 and 332 wherein a polygon number reducing process is recorded. A low-layer polygon model morphing process part after making the vertexes correspond to each other interpolates both to generate intermediate-layer polygon models 323a and 323b. An intermediate image generating process part performs restoration to polygon models using metadata and texture mapping to generate intermediate images 303a and 303b.
