The drill chuck clamps a drill (9) by means of jaws (5) converging inside bores (10) in the chuck body (6). The jaws are activated by a nut (13) which displaces them between separated positions and a position where they are supported against the drill stem. Each jaw comprises in its front part a transverse orientation groove (15) in its outer surface.
