PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader, where and effect of a switching voltage as to a 1st pixel is not given onto an output signal. SOLUTION: This image reader is provided with photodiodes D1-Dn for image reading that are placed in a line, MOS switching transistors(TRs) Cl-Cn for sequentially extracting the output signals of the photodiodes D1-Dn, and a dummy switching TR C0 that is turned off nearly at the same time, as when the 1st switching TR C1 is turned on.
