PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-pressure discharge lamp, a floodlighting device, and a projector device, capable of reducing cracks, etc., occurring in sealing parts due to high temperature and high pressure during lighting by improving connection parts between metallic foil and electrode shafts embedded in the sealing parts, and thereby enhancing joint strength between the electrode shafts and the glass of the sealing parts. SOLUTION: This high-pressure discharge lamp L1 is equipped with a light- transmitting airtight container 1 made of quartz glass having a swell part 12 and sealing parts 13 extending therefrom, electrode shafts 3 each connected to one end of metallic foil 2 sealed in the sealing part 13, external lead wires 6 each connected to the other end of the metallic foil 2, and a discharge medium sealed up in the airtight container 1. Each electrode shaft 3 is wound with a metallic-wire coil 4 on its portion positioned in the glass of the sealing part 13, including a connection part 23, and provided with an electrode 5 on its end extending into the swell part 12. This high-pressure discharge lamp L1 is mounted on a floodlighting device 7, and the floodlighting device 7 is used in a projector device 9.
