PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a viewer concentrate attention to an image in a part which is not masked, improve the viewer's diagnosis ability, suppress total light quantity and reduce eye fatigue by installing a mask means masking part of a medical image displayed on an image display means. SOLUTION: A mask means for masking part of a displayed medical image is installed. The brightness and the contrast of the image can be adjusted by the left key of a mouse. When a right key is selected, a menu consisting of 'study selection', 'display', 'setting' and 'termination' is displayed on a processing screen 21. When 'display' is selected, a menu for 'whole display', 'lower mask', 'upper/lower masks' and 'magnification lens' are displayed. When 'lower mask' is selected, the lower side of the image is masked and displayed in a luminance equal to background luminance or darker. When 'upper/lower masks' is selected, a part which is not masked is set in a band shape (a). The part which is not masked can automatically be shifted downward (b). |
