PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize the operability at the time of manual operation or the operation at the time of motor-driving even in the case of using a device at ambient temperature out of the ordinary temperature in the device where the operation for switching the manual operation and automatic operation is not required. SOLUTION: The gear movable plate 26 of a clutch mechanism is connected to the external tooth of a zoom operation ring, and the gear fixed plate 27 of the clutch mechanism is coupled with a zoom motor 35, then the movable plate 26 is actuated by a clutch actuation motor 37 through a coil spring and a moving gear so as to couple and disconnect the fixed plate 27. The device is provided with a temperature sensor 53 measuring the ambient temperature, and a CPU 45 variably controls a clutch position when motor-driving is turned on/off corresponding to the air temperature so as to change the pressing force of the frictional surface of the plates 26 and 27. For example, when the temperature is low, the pressing force at the time of turning on motor-driving is increased and the pressing force at the time of turning off motor-driving is weakened, whereby the stable rotation of a lens operation ring is secured.
