PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for measuring the film thickness of an elastic paint film, in which the film thickness of only the newly formed upper-layer elastic paint film can be measured precisely and quickly, when the upper-layer elastic paint film is formed on a lower-layer elastic material, in which a lower layer and an upper layer are brought into close contact and integrated, so as to be capable of maintaining a bending property and in which there is no possibility of the elastic paint film being damaged, even in measurement. SOLUTION: A resin-based adhesive, to which a metal powder is added, is coated on a lower-layer elastic material. After that, am upper-layer elastic paint film is formed on an adhesive layer which contains the metal powder. The time, which elapses until ultrasonic waves incident on the surface of the upper-layer elastic paint film is reflected by the adhesive layer containing the metal powder for returning to the surface of the upper-layer elastic paint film, is measured. Thereby, the film thickness of only the upper-layer elastic paint film can be measured precisely and quickly.
