PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electro-optical device which has no swelling part of molding resin projecting from a liquid crystal injecting hole, therefore hardly generates damage, e.g. cleavage, lack, etc., causing removal of the swelling part of the molding resin and has enhanced strength. SOLUTION: Two substrates 1a and 1b are opposed to each other through a circular sealing material 2 having an electro-optical material injecting hole 2a, and an electro-optical material 3 is injected into an electro-optical material sealing region enclosed by the sealing material 2. The injecting hole 2a is sealed with molding resin 5 and the end face of the resin 5 is exposed between the two substrates 1a and 1b. At least one of end faces 1i and 1g of the two substrates 1a and 1b on the side which the resin 5 is exposed to and the exposed face of the resin 5 are on the same face, and the exposed face of the resin 5 and the faces 1i and 1g of the two substrates 1a and 1b on the side which the resin 5 is exposed to are faces cut by utilizing a laser beam respectively.
