PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital wireless microphone system with a variable bit rate, high extendability and high convenience. SOLUTION: A transmitter 1 can vary a bit rate of the transmitter 1 and a receiver 21 to allow the transmitter 1 to select the bit rate in response to objects and applications. Furthermore, a digital effecter 29 is mounted on the receiver 21 and the transmitter 1 can operate the digital effecter 29. Furthermore, the receiver 21 is provided with a digital output terminal and an external control terminal to enhance the extendability, and the operability can be improved by allowing the transmitter 1 to select the connection to the terminals.
