PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of cleaning failure by maintaining an excellent contact state between a cleaning blade and an intermediate transfer belt even if a tension roller supporting the intermediate transfer belt is shifted. SOLUTION: A tension roller 16 supporting an intermediate transfer belt 18 is supported by a tensioner 17 and 17' through the rotary shaft 16a of the tension roller 16 which can be shifted in the one direction only. A cleaning unit 23 provided with a cleaning blade 24 being held in contact with the intermediate transfer belt 18 by a specified angle and pressure is aligned to the tensioner 17 and 17', and fixed.
